Saturday, March 28 - 10am – 2pm Clean up Davidson Middle School and surrounding neighborhoods while learning about and celebrating the legacy of Cesar Chavez Location Davidson Middle School 280 Woodland Avenue, San Rafael 2 blocks south of 2nd Street – Map it! Tasks Litter Cleanup School Beautification Gardening Description Join the City of San Rafael, Conservation Corps North Bay, San Rafael Clean, and Davidson Dad’s Club for a day of giving back and celebration in honor of Cesar Chavez. The event originates at Davidson Middle School and the educational activities, music and food take place there. The litter cleanup will be on school property and in the surrounding neighborhoods. Median pruning, backstop painting, fence repair and gardening all happen on the campus. Volunteers are mostly needed for the litter cleanup, but also to help with the other beautification activities. Help us celebrate the life of Cesar Chavez, learn about his 10 core values, including Sacrifice, Respect for the Environment, Innovation, and a Preference to Help the Most Needy. What to bring/Other Info: Wear layered clothing, bring a hat and sunscreen, sturdy shoes (no open toes please!), and gloves if you have them. BRING YOUR OWN WATER BOTTLE This is a Zero-Waste Event. NOTE: If coming with minors that are not your own, you must have their parent or legal guardian sign a Volunteer Service agreement form before they arrive.
